Sylvia is a performance maker from Germany, currently living in Bristol/ England. Her projects often revolve around the process of remembering, personal histories, lived places, risk and how we orientate ourselves. She is interested in the Live moment of performance and likes to play with the presence of an audience, whilst applying low-profile methods for creating places, situations and interactions in space.

In 2006 she graduated with an MA in ‘Devised Theatre’ at Dartington College of Arts. She has shown work at venues and festivals (inter)nationally e.g. at Arnolfini Bristol, Spill Festival at the Barbican London, Inbetween Time Festival Bristol, Mayfest Bristol, Battersea Arts Centre London, Grimmuseum Berlin (Germany), EPAF at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Warsaw (Poland), zeitraumexit Mannheim (Germany), Theater Am Turm and Schauspiel Frankfurt (Germany) and Factoria de Fuegos in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain).

Sylvia is also the Director and Co-Producer of You & Your Work (Y&YW) performance festival in Bristol. Y&YW commissions artists and showcases risk-taking work of early career performance artists whilst aiming to reach and engage diverse communities and audiences.

Sylvia is a member of Residence, an artist-led organisation creating space for artists to make theatre, performance and Live Art in Bristol.
